Playground Engineer Terms & Agreement

Playground Engineer, a division of Satyananda corp, is a hands-on digital product studio where students learn by building, thinking, and explaining their work. This agreement ensures a safe, focused, and high-quality learning environment for all participants. By enrolling in a Playground Engineer program, you (parent/guardian) agree to the following terms:

1. Program Participation

Playground Engineer programs are active, project-based sessions where students design and build digital products using modern tools, including programming environments and AI-assisted technologies.

Students are expected to:

  • Participate actively in sessions

  • Follow coach guidance

  • Engage respectfully with peers

Playground Engineer reserves the right to remove a student from the program if behavior disrupts the learning environment. No refunds will be issued in such cases.

2. Device & Technology Requirements

Participation requires access to appropriate technology. Requirements vary by program.

Python or Web Project + AI Programs

Students must have:

  • A laptop or desktop computer (Mac or Windows)

  • Minimum 8 GB RAM (16 GB recommended)

  • A device typically no more than 5–6 years old and capable of running current software

  • Ability to install and run:

    • Visual Studio Code (VSCode)

    • Python (latest stable version)

    • AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot or similar, subscription may be needed in some cases)

  • A reliable high-speed internet connection

  • A personal email account

Tablets (including iPads) are not sufficient for Python-based programs.

iOS App Development Programs

Students must have:

  • An iPad (latest iPadOS supported) or a Mac (MacBook Air or MacBook Pro recommended)

  • For Mac users:

    • Minimum 8 GB RAM (16 GB recommended)

    • Ability to run the latest macOS and Xcode

  • Ability to use:

    • Swift Playgrounds (iPad)

    • Xcode (Mac, required for advanced app development and App Store publishing)

  • A reliable high-speed internet connection

  • An Apple ID

For advanced app development and publishing, a MacBook Pro with 16 GB RAM is strongly recommended.

Playground Engineer is not responsible for:

  • Device compatibility or performance issues

  • Software installation challenges

  • Internet connectivity disruptions

Failure to meet these requirements may impact participation and does not qualify for refunds or credits.

3. AI Tools Usage & Responsibility

Students may use AI-assisted tools as part of the learning process.

You acknowledge that:

  • AI tools are assistive and may produce inaccurate or unpredictable results

  • Playground Engineer does not control or guarantee outputs from third-party AI systems

  • Use of AI tools is subject to the terms and policies of the respective providers

Students are instructed not to:

  • Share sensitive personal information in AI tools

  • Generate harmful or inappropriate content

  • Misrepresent AI-assisted work as fully original

Playground Engineer is not liable for:

  • Content generated by AI tools

  • Misuse of AI tools by students

  • Decisions made based on AI-generated output

Playground Engineer reserves the right to restrict or remove access to AI tools or remove a student from the program for misuse.

4. Children’s Data & Parental Consent

Playground Engineer programs may include students under the age of 13.

By enrolling, you confirm that:

  • You are the parent or legal guardian providing consent for participation

  • Personal information is provided by you and not directly by the child without supervision

  • You consent to the collection and use of information as outlined in our Privacy Policy

Parents/guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child’s information at any time.

5. Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver

By enrolling, you acknowledge and accept that participation involves certain risks, including but not limited to:

  • Use of computers, software, and internet platforms

  • Interaction with third-party tools, including AI systems

  • Technical issues such as data loss, system errors, or unintended outcomes

You agree to waive, release, and hold harmless Playground Engineer (a division of Satyananda Corp), its employees, coaches, contractors, and partners from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from participation in the program, whether conducted online or in person.

6. Medical Authorization

In the event of an emergency during in-person activities, you authorize Playground Engineer staff to seek appropriate medical care for your child. You accept full responsibility for any medical costs incurred.

7. Code of Conduct

Students are expected to maintain a respectful and positive environment.

This includes:

  • Following coach instructions

  • Using appropriate language and behavior

  • Respecting peers, staff, and equipment

  • Being appropriately presentable during online sessions

Destructive behavior or misconduct may result in removal from the program without refund. Families are responsible for any damage caused by the student to equipment or facilities.

8. Content, Collaboration & Intellectual Property

Playground Engineer programs are collaborative by design. Students often build on shared ideas, feedback, and team contributions.

  • Students may create original work, contribute to group projects, or build on shared concepts developed during the program.

  • As a result, individual ownership of ideas and outputs may not always be clearly defined.

By participating, you acknowledge that:

  • Student work may be collaborative, iterative, and influenced by peers, coaches, and tools (including AI)

  • No exclusive ownership claims are guaranteed over ideas or projects developed within group settings

Students are encouraged to:

  • Showcase their contributions

  • Continue developing their work independently outside the program

Playground Engineer retains the right to:

  • Use, display, and share student work (including collaborative projects) for educational and promotional purposes

  • Continue developing general concepts, frameworks, or ideas explored within the program

All curriculum, teaching materials, and program frameworks remain the intellectual property of Playground Engineer and may not be copied, distributed, or resold.

9. Media, Recording & Use of Student Work

Playground Engineer programs are designed around building, explaining, and sharing work. As part of this process, students may be recorded during sessions and may share their work, screens, or presentations as part of learning and demonstrating progress.

By participating, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Sessions may be recorded for instructional, quality, and program development purposes

  • Students may appear in recordings while presenting, collaborating, or receiving feedback

  • Student work (including code, projects, and demonstrations) may be captured as part of the learning process

Because recording and sharing are essential to the program experience:

  • Participation in recorded sessions is required

  • It is not possible to fully opt out of recording while participating in the program

Playground Engineer may use recordings and student work:

  • Internally for training, evaluation, and improving program quality

  • Externally in a limited manner for educational or promotional purposes

We make reasonable efforts to:

  • Use content respectfully and appropriately

  • Avoid sharing sensitive personal information

If you have specific concerns regarding external use (e.g., marketing), please contact us prior to participation.

10. Payments, Refunds & Attendance

  • Enrollment is a commitment to the full program/session

  • Payment must be completed to secure a spot

  • All fees are non-refundable unless approved in writing

  • Missed sessions do not qualify for refunds or credits

Students are expected to attend all scheduled sessions and remain engaged with their cohort.

11. Limitation of Responsibility

Playground Engineer is not responsible for:

  • Loss or damage to student-owned devices

  • Technical issues outside its control

  • Outcomes related to student use of tools outside supervised sessions

Parents/guardians are responsible for monitoring student activity outside program hours.

12. Updates to This Agreement

Playground Engineer reserves the right to update this Terms & Agreement at any time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.

13. Agreement

By enrolling in a Playground Engineer program, you confirm that:

  • You have read and understood this Terms & Agreement

  • You accept all responsibilities outlined above

  • You consent to your child’s participation under these conditions

14. Dispute Resolution

We believe most concerns can be resolved through clear and respectful communication.

If you have any issue related to the program, you agree to first contact Playground Engineer directly at info@playgroundengineer.com so we can work toward a resolution.

If a matter cannot be resolved informally, any disputes arising from participation in Playground Engineer programs shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas.

You agree that any legal claims will be handled in the appropriate courts located in Texas.
